WHAT YOU SHOULD ALSO KNOW
Visa, Passport etc. for swedish citizens (different conditions can occur for citizens from other countries)
Some of "our" countries demand an entry visa:
INDIA: 440 SEK
NEPAL: 30 USD for one month
THAILAND: 30 days without visa
SRI LANKA: one month without visa
We give information about visa applications for Nepal. Per telephone we give you information about visa formalities as a service to you. Please, always check that you have a valid visa. Check also when the validity of your passport expires. If you during your journey leave a country and wish to return to that country you must have a so called
Multiple Visa, i.e. a visa for more than one visit.
Always check what vaccinations are obligatory ore recommended for entry into foreign countries. Please, reconfirm your homeward journey not later than 72 hours before your flight is scheduled to leave. Otherwise you run the risk to be cancelled from your flight.
In the Far East it is normal for you, when you travel home, to pay the flight tax in local currency. Please, save the tax amount in local currency: just now 500 rupees in India, 1100 rupees in Nepal, 500 baht in Thailand.
Check also how much luggage you can take with you without paying an extra
charge. The normal weight per person is 20 kg for suitcases etc. and 5 kg
for hand luggage.
Travel insurance?
We always recommend our travellers to take a look at their insurance security. A travel insurance can be bought at any time before your departure.
Swed-Asia Travels reserves itself agianst sudden events, incidents and dangerous political situations which can occur at any time (India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Tibet). We always recommend our travellers to avoid demonstrations and big crowds, situations which can develop into uncontrolled violence. You are welcome to contact us before you leave about the political situation in each country.
Doctors and your health
Always seek advice from your doctor before you leave - especially if you are going to visit high altitudes, deserts, jungles or malaria-infested areas. Or do as the Indian traveller and journalist Pelle Jacobsson - get your own house doctor in South India.
