Rektor Mahesh Moktan at Snow View English Boarding School has the honour to offer the possiblity to become a volonteer as english teacher.

Located at a strategic point in Hemja (Village Development Committee) ward no.2, Pokhara. Dist. Kaski under Gandaki Zone. The school lies in front of the majestic view point of Mount Machhapuchre, which means fishtail adjoining with spellbinding Mount Dhaulagiri and Mt. Annapurna. The name of the school “Snow View” itself denotes the true geographical location. It has a very peaceful environment surrounded by different types of green trees.

Our motivation to welcome you as a volunteer teacher
As the school lies under Village Development Committee, most of the people are uneducated, especially the student’s parents, they want their children to learn better English language. As the environment created in the school was not enough for the children to learn English Language properly we humbly would like to request and invite foreign VSO’s to help our children to tackle this problem. It will not only help our children but also will create an English environment for all the local teachers and parents as well. We would be very glad to accept new methods of teaching and ideas to upgrade the quality of education in our country through VSO.

Our school at a glance
The school was established in 2053 B.S. i.e. 1996. Presently, it is run successfully by three capable founders. The school has moderate facilities like spacious classrooms, playground, clean toilets, bathrooms, water tank etc.

The school has classes till standard seven (age 15-16 years) starting from pre-primary level. There are eleven teachers and a peon. The total number of students in the school is 225.

Our school’s yearly schedule is as follows:
One academic session starts from the 1st of May to next May. Each academic session is divided into three terms.
First term - from May to August
Second term - from September to December
Third term – from January to May

Our main holidays are as follows:
1. Summer vacation which falls on the mid of July for about 10days
2. Dasain and Tihar festival holidays start from 2nd of October to 2nd of November (for a month).
3. Winter vacation starts from 1st of January to 10th of January.
*Our school’s subjects are English, Science, Mathematic, Social Studies (which include history, geography and sociology), Health, Physical Education, Population and Environment, General Knowledge and Nepali.

English teachers – We are able to welcome up to 2 volunteers (then preferably couples)

Food and accommodation:
We would be providing a free accommodation in clean environment with very good bathroom and toilet facilities according to the requirements for a comfortable stay. We would also provide free food facilities along with a helper servant.
