TIBET
Swed-Asia Travels is specialized in tourism to Tibet and thus can design your journey to suit your needs.

Tibet is accessible for those who are long for a different world where one meets the Tibetan folk, their fascinating culture and the breathtaking nature which leaves its traces in the soul.
Tibet called " the roof of the world", lies between China and Nepal. The average height is 4 000 km and the highest peak is Mt. Everest or Chomolungma, Mother Earth, as called by the Tibetans. Many exciting experiences await in Lhasa. The magnificent Potala palace, once a residence of Dalai Lama, inspires the Buddhists and the Tibetans peculiar culture. Three of the most significant temples, Sere, Drepung and Jokhand lies here. You spend the night in the Old part of Lhasa called Barkhor, where you can come in close contact with Tibetans daily life-style and also try their well-known butter.
After one gets adapted to their life style, it is time to have some excursions. There are many things to see and certain tours may take a few days while other just a day and return back to Lhasa by sunset. In Tibet, one is welcomed with smiling faces and curious eyes. Tibetans greeting may seem a little strange to us, as they stretches out their tongue towards us as a sign of greeting.
In July 2001 a new connection between Lhasa and Hong Kong was started. A railway line between China and Tibet is also under construction which will pass between Golmid in Qinhagi Province and is going to be the world's highest railway track

Our most popular Journey to Tibet in 8 days is by the Highway road from Kathmandu in Nepal and return by flight. The journey offers a spectacular view of this rich, traditional life of the common people in Tibet. In old temples we see monks practise their religion and mutter sacred mantras. In Lhasa, we visit the Potala Palace which was once the residence of Dalai Lama. You stay overnight in the old part of Lhasa, Barkhor, where you live with the Tibetans. This journey includes striking sights of Himalaya and a flight from Lhasa passing Mt. Everest.
