Building a better future for the indian tiger with Swed-Asia Travels
Striped Lord of the Jungle
The tiger is the symbol of Indian wildlife. Tiger cubs spend the first two years of their life with their mother.
During this period, their mother teaches the necessary survival tactics and skills needed to etablish and later guard their territories. The female cubs are initially given some space within the mother`s territory, wich slowly expand. The male cubs are forced to leave a few months before the female cubs and learn to fend for themselves. The male cubs then spend the next two years in search of a suitable territory, during wich time, they have to confront more powerful adult dominate males.
Tiger like other animals require space but unfortunately, habitat loss and lack of corridors between Protected Areas threaten the very existence of their population. Let us together continue to support Project Tiger in its quest to provide a safe haven for India`s tiger population.
